Matakana’s thriving creative scene has a new home! The Mahurangi Network Gallery opens its doors on Friday 28 November at 1 The Workshops, Matakana Valley Road, providing a permanent venue for the region’s artists to exhibit their work year-round.
The gallery is the latest venture from the Mahurangi Artist Network, the group behind the popular annual Studio Trail that draws visitors from across Aotearoa. The new space extends that experience, giving locals and visitors alike the chance to enjoy and purchase art directly from the artists who make it.
The artwork will be of the highest quality, selected from the members of the Mahurangi Artist Network and curated to give visitors the chance to buy stunning locally created work.
In collaboration with Bill Hart of K.S.Thompson Picture Framers (https://ksthompson.co.nz/), the gallery also offers custom mounting and framing services, creating a perfect partnership between art and presentation.
