A huge thank you to and for this wonderful article and for helping spread the word about what the Rural Māmã Collective is working to achieve.
has been there right from the beginning, supporting us with the Scotland's Te Kiteroa Charitable Grant, which helped us kickstart RMC. We are so grateful for your belief in what we're doing and your ongoing support!

A home-cooked meal and a friendly visit are helping Wairarapa’s Rural Māmā Collective connect isolated rural mothers with support and each other.

Here is 10 year old Tui with some beautifully knitted Izzy dolls. Lovingly donated by Liz .

A little bit of Izzy Doll history 🤍

Izzy Dolls were created in memory of Canadian soldier Mark Isfeld, who was killed while serving in Bosnia in 1994.

His mother, Isabel, had knitted small dolls for him to give to children he met during his deployments. After his death, the tradition continued, with volunteers around the world making Izzy Dolls to bring comfort and joy to children going through difficult times.

We’re so proud to share these special little dolls with children through Rural Māmā Collective. 🤍Liz Lam Sam
