🔥 GROOVE KUTTZ ACADEMY — COHORT 4 IS NOW OPEN! 🔥

Kia ora whānau,

We are heading into the second-to-last week of Cohort 3 for 2026, which means it’s time to open the doors for Cohort 4 — our FINAL cohort for 2026! 💈🔥

Groove Kuttz is more than just learning how to cut hair.

Yes, you’ll learn the theory, techniques and foundations of professional barbering — but we also believe in something bigger.

❤️ Giving back.
🤝 Serving our community.
🌱 Building confidence and character.
🌿 Learning through Te Ao Māori.
💈 Developing real barbering skills.

This term, our kaupapa has already taken us into two schools, supporting tamariki and whānau where the need has been identified. And with more schools and organisations reaching out, one thing is becoming clear — there is a real need for people who are willing to serve.

So if you’re looking for something that will challenge you, grow you and give you an opportunity to make a difference, this could be for you.

But we’ll be honest…

This kaupapa isn't for the faint-hearted. 💯

We are looking for people who are committed, reliable, willing to learn, willing to serve and ready to step outside themselves for the benefit of others.

Four years of Mangōpare. Six cohorts. So many journeys. 💚🦈

We are really proud to share our Mangōpare Impact Report 2022–2026, independently prepared by the Centre for Social Impact.

The report captures what we have seen over the past four years: when rangatahi have people who believe in them, walk alongside them and create a space where they feel safe and belong, change happens.

86% of Mangōpare graduates have progressed into education, training or employment. But the impact is much bigger than a number. It is growing confidence, reconnecting with identity and whānau, rebuilding trust, finding hope and beginning to imagine a different future.

One rangatahi summed it up better than we ever could:

“I now look to the future, not to the past.” 💚

Thank you Clendon Park School for allowing Groove Kuttz academy come through and showcase what it looks like and the mahi needed to do to become a barber. To top it off 42 boys got free haircuts.

The rangatahi have expressed how encouraging it was seeing the tauira leave happy about their kuttz.

As I shared in the video any whanau out there with citrus tree overload please reachout and we can come around and collect what you have to offer.

Also shared is it will go into the kai parcels and nearby pataka so our whanau can use for many things like lemon drinks or fruit for school lunches.

What an awesome day with the boyz from Groove Kuttz academy doing free cuttz at Waimahia Intermediate School.

Thank you for the opportunity to come through and seeing the boys happy with their cuttz is why we do what we do.

Great work to the boys for stepping in to the unknown and taking charge to get it done.
