A full weekend of bowls at the Coopers Beach Bowling Club on Saturday / Sunday 2 /3 May.
Generously sponsored by Moana New Zealand saw any combination 2x4x2 pairs played on Saturday
and an any combination 2 bowl triples on Sunday with players being able to enter one day or both.
Saturday attracted 28 teams with visitors from FNRSA, Houhora, Kaitaia Church Road, Kaikohe and Okaihau
bowling clubs along with the host club members to play 4 games of 8 ends on wins, ends and points with a kill
resulting in the team killing the end giving an end to the opposition. If there was a draw there was a 1 bowl
shoot out to find the winner.
Results:
1 st : Ken Smith, Trevor Smith (Coopers Beach)
4 wins, 21 ends, 57 points
2 nd : Kaye Daniels, Jeff Bell (Coopers Beach)
3 wins, 21 ends, 37 points

3 rd : Russell Murray, Malcolm Munday (Kaitaia Church Road)

3 wins, 20 ends, 45 points
4 th : W***y Kingi, Kate Haynes (Okaihau)
3 wins, 20 ends, 35 points

Sundays event attracted 14 teams with visitors from FNRSA, Kaitaia Church Road, Houhora and host club
members to play 4 games of 2 bowl triples of 12 ends with the same conditions as Saturday applying re a kill
and shoot out.

3 wins, 29 ends, 56 points

2 nd : Judy Olsson, Boe Olsson, Pam Naylor (Coopers Beach)

3 wins, 27 ends, 53 points

3 wins, 25 ends, 47 points

There was a lot of fun on the greens both days and the weather was also a bonus especially on Saturday.
