The Snappers Camera Club invites you to an evening of photography, creativity, and community at Beyond the Viewfinder.

Featuring a collection of work from local photographers, this exhibition offers a chance to explore different perspectives, styles, and moments captured through the lens.

Whangārei District Council and Creative Northland are calling for submissions for Art on Boxes 2026 - Transform traffic signal boxes across Whangārei into vibrant artworks.

In 2026, 12 new boxes will feature digitally printed vinyl wraps, opening the opportunity to artists of all ages and experience levels, including schools and community groups. Selected artists will receive a $900 artist fee, with works installed across high-profile public spaces in the city.

Please note: artworks must be original. AI-generated submissions are not eligible.

Help spread the word and encourage creatives across the district to get involved.

NZ Music Month is happening across Te Tai Tokerau this May, with workshops, artist conversations, networking opportunities and creative connections for the local music community.

From DJ workshops and studio basics to songwriting and community kōrero, there’s something for emerging and established musicians alike. Huge thanks to all the collaborators helping bring this programme to life across the region.

A special highlight includes the Music Community Hui on Friday 29 May, 12pm–1pm at the Whangārei District Library — a chance for local musicians, creatives, and industry supporters to come together, connect, and share ideas.
