🌏 🌱 World Environment Day 🌱 🌏

As the climate crisis intensifies, Zonta International continues to call for urgent and gender-responsive climate action. In its official statement, Zonta highlights that women and girls face unique and compounded risks from climate change, including increased burdens of unpaid care work, higher rates of gender-based violence during disasters, and greater economic insecurity.

We urge governments, communities, and civil society to ensure women are meaningfully included in climate policy, planning and decision-making. It also stresses the need for increased investment in women-led adaptation and mitigation efforts, particularly in regions most affected by environmental harm.

This World Environment Day, Zonta reaffirms its commitment to addressing climate change as a critical gender equality issue.
