Kia ora Whānau. A reminder of the Te Arawa Fisheries AGM at Whakaue Marae this Friday at 5pm.

Kia ora e te iwi!

This is a friendly reminder that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held next Friday in Maketū.

We warmly invite all our registered iwi members to join us as we reflect on the past year, share updates on our kaupapa, and look ahead to the opportunities and aspirations for the future.

We would especially love to see our rangatahi in attendance. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the work of the Trust, connect with your iwi, and have your voice as part of shaping our future.

Whether you've attended before or this will be your first AGM, we'd love to welcome you. Bring your whānau along and be part of the kōrero.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Hei konā rā, Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whakaue mai Maketū.
As I come to the end of my time with the Rūnanga, I would like to take a moment to express my sincere thanks to everyone who has been part of the journey.
It has been a privilege to serve and work alongside such dedicated trustees, staff, project partners, and community members. I have relished my time in the role and feel grateful for the opportunity to contribute to kaupapa that support the aspirations of Ngāti Whakaue mai Maketū.
Looking back, I am proud of what has been achieved together. None of it would have been possible without the collective hard work of so many people. I would particularly like to acknowledge the Board of Trustees for their leadership and commitment to the long-term vision of the Rūnanga. It has been a pleasure working alongside you.
I cannot speak highly enough of the skill and dedication of the Rūnanga team. It has been a genuine privilege to work with such a professional and knowledgeable group of people, whose passion and unwavering sense of responsibility to the kaupapa have been both inspiring and humbling.
I feel it is the right time to step away from my role with the Rūnanga. I am proud of what we have achieved together, and I believe the organisation is ready for its next chapter. My own journey is evolving as well, and I look forward to continuing to serve the aspirations of Ngāti Whakaue and our wider community in different ways.
I remain committed to supporting our people and environment and look forward to seeing the kaupapa progress.
Thank you to everyone who has shared this journey with me. I wish you all the very best for the future.
Ngā mihi nui.

Kia ora whānau

Spend a few minutes this weekend - or this coming week- checking that you and your whānau are enrolled to vote.

The rules have changed - which could make it harder to vote.

Enrol early. Support your whānau to enrol. Then, when the time comes, vote - and support your whānau to vote.

The more people that participate in our democracy, the better chance we have of keeping bad governments out.

Check here for enrollment information:
www.vote.nz

The 2026 General Election will be held on 7 November - but enrolment closes in October. So check now. Don't leave it to the last minute.

Maranga ake, whānau!
