Despite 95% of submitters supporting this bill, and all parties working together to draft an amended version of it, the coalition parties have decided to not support the progression of the Consumer Guarantees (Right to Repair) Amendment Bill. Why? Who knows, but probably not wanting to give a win to an opposition party's member's bill. Local Banks Peninsula MP Vanessa Weenink is one of those who voted to not support it. Drop her a line and ask why!

MPs Say No to Right to Repair | The Economic Development, Science and Innovation Committee has recommended against the Right to Repair Bill—even with overwhelming support from the public and NZ businesses.
Thank you to everyone who made a submission or supported the campaign led by the Right to Repair Aotearoa Coalition. Your voice matters, and we appreciate you.

Now, we need your help more than ever. Contact your local MP and ask them why they would vote this bill down. Remind them why they should support the bill when it goes to its Second Reading, which is scheduled for September at the earliest.

We're not giving up. We will continue to advocate for the Right to Repair for all New Zealanders. Follow our channels for updates.
