Twitter: www.twitter.com/TOAHNNEST TOAH-NNEST is the National Network of Sexual Violence Practitioners and Services. We are not a sexual violence service that deals directly with survivors/victims and perpetrators, instead, we exist to advocat

e for the needs of the sexual violence sector. We achieve this through our Te Tiriti o Waitangi structure with two whare: Ngā Kaitiaki Mauri that represents tangata whenua and the Tauiwi Caucus which represents all of those that have chosen to call Aotearoa home. A Te Tiriti structure allows for each whare to deal with mahi tūkino/sexual violence using their own world views. TOAH-NNEST agencies offer specialist help and support if you are a survivor or if you have been behaving in harmful sexual ways towards others. We can also help direct you to a service if you have a loved one who has experienced or perpetrated sexual violence. Our Kaupapa Māori Services offer support and counselling by Māori, for Māori and for people of all other communities in Aotearoa. CLICK: http://toah-nnest.org.nz/get-help/find-help

Ngā mihi nui kia kōrua, Russell Smith rāua ko Joy Te Wiata! 🎉

🎉 Congratulations to our incredible NKM members, Russell Smith (MNZM) and Joy Te Wiata (MNZM), on their appointment to the New Zealand Order of Merit.

As co-founders of Korowai Tumanako, they bring over 50 years of combined service to supporting whānau and advancing Kaupapa Māori approaches to prevention, intervention, education, and healing.

Their leadership continues to shape the sector and uplift communities across Aotearoa. We honour their mahi and the legacy they continue to build.

Manawa Ora is one of the largest providers of Rongoā Māori in Aotearoa, led by Jolie Davis (Ngāti Kurī, Te Rarawa).

Mirimiri and romiromi are traditional Māori healing practices that work to restore balance across the tinana, hinengaro, wairua and whatumanawa. Using intentional bodywork, pressure and movement, these practices help release tension, stress and trauma held in the body.

Grounded in mātauranga Māori, this is more than massage, it’s a holistic approach to wellbeing. 🌿

At conference, Manawa Ora will be offering introductory mirimiri sessions in an open, shared space, incorporating karakia and waiata throughout the experience.
