Read how New Zealand dairy fHarmers give each other advice on how to enforce bull semen into resisting cows' vag.

They need to shove the semen into the vag to get the cows pregnant, so that once the calves are born (after nine months), the calves can be stolen from their mothers (and killed), and the cows' breast milk (intended for their babies) can be pumped out several times a day, for your flat white.

Dairy is abuse.
Dairy is cruelty.
Dairy is be******ty.
There is NOTHING natural in dairy.

Today two of us represented SUfA in the UK and visited Camp Beagle. This is a 24/7 protest that has been ongoing for over 2 years and is located directly outside MBR dog breeding facility near Huntingdon.

Over 2000 puppies are bred in large tin sheds before being driven out to local animal testing laboratories where they are subject to experiments and are killed and dissected. It was very disturbing hearing the dogs barking and yelping inside the property. The activists here are doing an incredible job; combining local outreach events, petitioning the Home Office and maintaining a constant presence outside MBR. This committed campaigning raises public awareness of the cruelty going on behind these gates.

Yet another horse has suffered and been killed by the New Zealand racing industry, all in the name of "entertainment" and gambling profits. Eight-year-old gelding He's Ric fell on the second to last hurdle at Egmont Racing Club on Wednesday, fracturing his left hind leg and subsequently being euthanized on the track.

Races continued, and the incident was edited out of replay footage. His catastrophic injury and preventable death weren't mentioned in any of the write-ups congratulating the "winners." He was collateral damage. Raced to death, killed when unable to provide any further income stream, and then forgotten.

Rest in paradise He's Ric—free from exploitation and enslavement now. Your life was important and you deserved better. We'll remember your name and continue to fight this industry in your memory. We're so sorry. 💔🥀

A wet and foggy in Wellington today.

Our team met at the gates of Wellington Zoo to protest our use of animals for entertainment and profit under the guise of ‘conservation’. We came to speak up for the beautiful animals that are kept in jails, and deserve to roam freely on this planet, in their natural habitat. They do not belong in the zoo.

Let’s not forget that meat and dairy farming is a leading cause for the loss of biodiversity, and human greed is the only reason so many animals need to be protected, but we need sanctuaries not zoos!

Everything is connected – our abuse of the planet, consumption of animal flesh and their secretions, human greed, and the cruel exploitation of the planet and its habitants (human and nonhuman) for profit.

Only a couple of weeks ago two servals were “euthanised” by the zoo, and already they bought a couple of snow leopards to replace them. Snow leopards – in Wellington! Where is the snow? What the heck are they doing here? Locked up for life.

We had a lot of support, which was truly fantastic and encouraging. During a previous zoo protest, an older man told us that he was seventy-five years old and never visited a zoo in his entire life. Today a mother and child who live nearby stopped to wish us good luck and expressed their support. Plenty of cars tooted and gave us the thumbs up too.

This Earth Day, please endorse the Plant Based Treaty, avoid giving your money to places that exploit and jail animals like zoos, circuses, marine parks etc. and please !!

In the past, the Forced Swim Test (a cruel animal test) was conducted at the University of Otago and the Victoria University of Wellington. But we’ve recently discovered that they, along with all other NZ Universities, aren’t currently using the Forced Swim Test, which is fantastic news!

Now, we need to make sure it stays this way.

Applaud and encourage progress: Sign the NZAVS virtual thank you card to all 8 Universities in NZ for steering clear of the Forced Swim Test!

Together we can encourage animal ethics committees to continue evaluating the use of the Forced Swim Test and other animal tests.
This is a powerful yet positive way to encourage the scientific community to embrace progress and remind them that they’re heading in the right direction!
