It's that time of year again! Dust off your dancing shoes and join us for a fantastic night of music, food, fun and a little bit of friendly competition at the Little Wanganui Hall!

Coming solo? No problem! Pick your favourite opposite or dress as your alter ego!

Think you make the best whitebait patty on the Coast? Here's your chance to prove it! Bring a pound of whitebait, cooked to your own special recipe, and put your culinary skills to the test.

🏆 Patties must be with the judges by 7.30pm.

📢 LITTLE WANGANUI — TWO COMMUNITY SUBMISSIONS NEED YOUR SIGNATURE
Buller District Council's Draft Reserves Management Plan is open for consultation right now, and it directly affects our reserve and hall. The Reserve and Hall Subcommittee has prepared two community submissions:

🛝 A BETTER PLAYGROUND — Council's draft plan promises to enhance our playground (the only one in the community) but puts no money behind it. We're asking Council to fund the upgrade properly, build it to New Zealand playground standards with shade and seating for parents and caregivers, and ask our community about the design.

🏠 THE HALL UPGRADE — The community has planned alterations to the hall: a new public entrance, secure storage, a renewed weathertight frontage and roof, and a permanent home for our locally significant fossil. The hall is our only Civil Defence emergency centre — the nearest alternative is twenty minutes away. We're asking Council to support the work going ahead, treat it as capital investment rather than maintenance, and get it done in the short term.

✍️ WHERE TO SIGN: Copies of both submissions are at the Little Wanganui Hotel and on the door of the Little Wanganui Hall until August 2nd. Council has confirmed that EVERY SIGNATURE COUNTS AS A SEPARATE SUBMISSION — so the more of us who sign, the more seriously they have to take it. Please sign both if you support both!

What a fantastic night at our 7th annual cheese and quiz night – it went really well! 🎉

A huge thank you to Jane for being an amazing quizmaster and keeping everything running smoothly.

Big thanks as well to our incredible committee for preparing the food, donating prizes, and running the bar – your effort made the night such a success.
