‼️ Important Changes to Planting Day, Tuesday 6th October ‼️

Planting start time has been delayed, please don’t come along at 8.30am because……..

We have some exciting news, Seven Sharp is coming to Kurow to showcase our fabulous community, and it would be awesome to have you all there!

We will be condensing our second planting day to run from 3-5pm tomorrow Tuesday the 6th of October.

Seven Sharp are coming primarily to highlight the incredible team driving the fundraising effort for the Waitaki Valley Health Hub and to also put the spotlight on our supportive and vibrant community.

📍 Things to know:
- Deadman’s Stream Planting Day 2, will now take place from 3-5pm, tomorrow the 6th of October
- All welcome, please bring yourself, your families and anyone who might be keen to show their community spirit
- The entrance will be signposted

Let us know if you have any questions, and let’s show them that a small community can do big things!

🌱 Volunteer Planting Day at Deadmans Stream 🌱

We're looking forward to a great couple of days of planting and would love to see you there!

📍 Where: Deadmans Stream (45 corner), Hakataramea Valley Road
⏰ When: Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th October from 8:30am - 3:30pm (join us for the whole day or drop in anytime in between)
🚩 The entrance will be clearly signposted.

🎒 Please bring:

✅ Water bottle
✅ Hat
✅ Suitable clothing and sturdy footwear for planting near waterways
✅ Optional: your own gloves, hand tools (such as a shovel, hammer, crow bar), and a camp chair if you'd like somewhere comfortable to sit during breaks

🌿 All other planting equipment will be provided.

🥪 Lunch and snacks are included.

To help us cater for everyone, please let us know if you plan to attend.

🌿 A reminder to landowners: roadside w**d control is a council requirement. Please check the roadside adjoining your property for w**ds such as gorse, broom, lupins and willows.

They’re often easier to spot at this time of year, with yellow flowers or fresh new leaves making them stand out. Getting onto them early helps stop them spreading further.

A quick notice for Hakataramea Valley residents: some aerial pest control work will be taking place in the valley tomorrow, Wednesday 9th September.
