On a sour note....We found lots of citrus had been dumped under a tree....Rotting fruit is a major source for rats, mice...

On a sour note....
We found lots of citrus had been dumped under a tree....
Rotting fruit is a major source for rats, mice, possums and German Wasps.
When dune plants die off due to pest damage their root system stop anchoring the sand which then accelerates erosion and destabilizes the coastline.
Someone had gone to the effort of picking up the fruit from under the trees...why not share...share at your gate or drop to the food forest.
It will be so appreciated...

5 to 6am Dark Sky Annual Star Gazing at Kuaotunu Sports Domain
6am Hautapu ceremony community celebration at Kuaotunu Reserve
8.30am to 10.30am KUAOTUNU DUNE CARE planting 4000 native plants, parking at Kuaotunu Village and crossing the footbridge.
(Holes are pre-dug)
MORNING TEA of Coffee Lala and fresh, hot cheese scones provided.
Exhibition of nine artists at Kuaotunu Hall for the whole weekend
6pm onwards Matariki Bonfire at the Kuaotunu Boat Ramp

Wowser people, a Matariki you will always remember! Everyone MOST welcome!
