Waikato Rodeo

Waikato Rodeo The Waikato Rodeo Association’s next Rodeo will be on 21st February 2026 at the Kihikihi Domain. The arena and facilities remain one of the best in the country.

If you would like to become a WRA Sponsor please send your details to [email protected] The Waikato Rodeo (formerly Kihikihi Rodeo) was started in 1960 as the Kihikihi School Rodeo as a fundraiser for the school community centre and library. The original rodeo site was on Bryant's Farm in Tiki Road, just South of Kihikihi and continued there until 1976 when it built the current facilities at the Kihikihi Domain.

Introducing our very own Blackjack. One of Waikato Rodeo’s best bucking horses, and owned by our Vice President Rodney Limmer. He was Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year for 2024–2025 and nominated again for 2025–2026.
Our animals are just as much the heroes of this sport as the riders and Blackjack proves it every time he leaves the chute. Ridden here by Shaun Tahau.

Well Richard Harden & his crew have been very busy at the grounds making sure our stock has shade on the 21st. We can't thank Richard enough what a fabulous job they have done. Still a bit of shade cloth to go up but just looks amazing. If you need any building done give Richard a call.
