The New Zealand Rodeo Cowboys Association is pleased to announce Rodney Limmer as the recipient of the 2026 Wilson Family Stock Contractor of the Year Award.

Established by the Wayne Wilson Family, the award recognises the time, dedication and effort stock contractors put into providing quality, fit-for-purpose stock and supporting rodeo throughout the season.

The award was approved in 2025 and will be presented annually at the NZRCA Annual General Meeting. Recipients must be approved stock contractors who demonstrate a commitment to providing suitable stock, understanding their responsibilities, and working openly and professionally with those involved in rodeo, including Animal Welfare Officers, veterinarians and MAF representatives.

Rodneyโ€™s selection recognises his ongoing contribution as a stock contractor and the important role he plays in supporting rodeo in New Zealand.

The NZRCA congratulates Rodney Limmer on this well-deserved achievement and thanks the Wayne Wilson Family for establishing the award and recognising the valuable contribution of stock contractors to our sport.

Congratulations Rodney!

The future of rodeo in Aotearoa is about to be decided and we need YOU.

MPI is reviewing the Rodeo Code of Welfare, and when that draft lands, our sport is going to need every single one of you. Riders, families, sponsors, fans, and everyday Kiwis who believe rodeo has a place in our rural communities.

This oneโ€™s bigger than NZRCA. Itโ€™s a fight for the whole rodeo community. ๐Ÿ’ช

Watch this space, weโ€™ll need your voice louder than ever soon. ๐Ÿ“ฃ

In the mean time, please sign our petition and support NZ rodeo.
