Well, we won't be having Job Club for a little longer, in the Proctor Library in Kerikeri, but I have a plan to take Job Club BOI online.... so watch this space! In the meantime, please do send me emails with CVs and cover letters to review, and to bounce small business ideas off me!
This is a very hard and frustrating time for all of us and the Job Club team just wants to let you know that we are thinking of you all.
If you want to discuss job/career options with Nikki - please call 021 644 708. Maybe there is a role that you are not aware of, or thought about, or simply you don't think you are suitably experienced to do. Let's look at your transferable skills, your strengths, and your passion. There is a job out there for you - and one you actually want to be doing.
Please take care and check out the following posts with some interesting and practical websites/resources.
Kia kaha, and hopefully see you very soon.
If it weren't for Covid and the lockdown, we were hoping to have some news about a Job Club space that we have had a look around. All we need is minimal funding to take on the lease. It is a perfect space to be able to start offering workshops and a place where job seekers can come and get support, and employers can meet potential employees.
Oh well, good things come to those who wait and wait. Fingers crossed!
DON'T FORGET:
Testing centres, including hours of operation, can be found here: https://www.healthpoint.co.nz/covid-19/

Stay safe and be kind to each other.

The Job Club team just want to ask you to stay home and stay safe during these unpredictable times. This could be a good time to check out the job sites - Indeed, Trade Me, Seek and Facebook job vacancy pages.
You are welcome to send me your cover letters/CVs if you want an outsider's opinion before sending.

In the meantime - have a look at these learning websites. These can help you with developing more essential life and vocational skills. https://pathwaysawarua.com/ - good for both job seekers and employers.

And if anyone is interested in growing a side hustle or starting up their own business, let us know and we can help with that too. In the meantime checkout www.business.govt.nz

Hopefully we will back in the Kerikeri Library next Friday, lockdown permitting. We are currently still seeking funding so we can lease a space for full time use. Keep your fingers crossed!
