Connecting with the Community DAY FOUR!!!๐ŸŒž๐ŸŽŠโœจ๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰

We flipped out and Flip today and it was flip-tastic! Tamariki nui have spent the term investigating and exploring movement in a variety of contexts - wind, water, air, space, toys! So much discovery around traction, force, distance, speed, angles, pressure, velocity and capacity and so much more!!! Last week we began looking at our bodies movement and how our hand movement can help swing Poi....we even made our own poi!!

What better way to finish our movement concept than with a visit to Flip to explore movement and our bodies! What a day!!!

Connecting with our Community Day TWO and what a day it was!!! Te Rฤ was shining ๐ŸŒž and the Whangฤrei Quarry Gardens ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ put on a beautiful display of colour, texture, smell and natural beauty! Our tamariki explored the new sand pit, problem solved and created....walked and discovered taking in the plants and their colours....helped their friends....explored the stream....enjoyed the sound of the rushing waterfalls...found and hid painted rocks and then finished the day with bubble ๐Ÿซง twirling.

Phew what a day๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

So much learning in our natural environment with the support of whฤnau and friends! Learning through play and discovery at its finest! Tino Pai ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ

Wow what a week! We have embraced Te Wiki o te Reo Mฤori across all areas of play and had so much fun along the way. Today was a focus on Ngฤ Tae / Colours and our tamariki explored texture and colour with dried coloured cornflour and showed they could work alongside each other! Ka Rawe. Inside they used shapes, felts, blocks, paper and magnetic tiles to further explore Ngฤ Tae all while making special connections and learning through play. Tino Pai!

Te Wiki o te Reo Mฤori โค๐Ÿ–คโค๐Ÿ–คโค๐Ÿ–ค
So much fun and enjoyment is being integrated into our week as we celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Mฤori.

Monday we ventured to our mฤra kai and planted some kฤroti and made gardens from playdough and Putiputi from collage materials!

Tuesday we looked at our native manu and we had Tanya's friend Kiri the Kiwi, Tane the Tui and Tama the Tuatara come to visit. We loved creating puppet shows with them and learning about what they eat and do!

And today was full of Ngฤ Karare o te Pฤmu/ Animals on the farm. We looked at animal groupings, counted in Te Reo, made a hipi ๐Ÿ‘ using paint and collage, sang Old McDonald had a pฤmu and used our animal figures to act out the song! And then it was off to carpentry to make kete. To finish our session it was bubble poi!!! Phew, what will tomorrow bring!!

Ka Pai to mahi tamariki ma!!๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽ‰
