Tena koe whanau, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all those who joined us last night with their whanau for kai. It brings us immense delight to see all the tamariki enjoying kai. We would also like to extend our sincerest gratitude to David and Maureen Olsen Aquarius for their generous koha of smoked Kahawai. We trust that you all enjoyed them, whanau. As we go forward, let us maintain our support for small local businesses. You can find fresh smoked fish, oysters, and fresh fish every Friday outside Bells from 3 pm to 5 pm and every Saturday morning at Kaitaia Market. Let us continue to support our local whanau in business whenever we can.

Whanau, I am thrilled to share with you my recent encounter with a Pakeha wahine who is dedicated to supporting our community. She contacted me last night regarding her efforts to promote MJZ and asked about my interest in obtaining fish heads. This inquiry sparked memories of my previous experiences, where I would receive bins from a customer and distribute the contents freely within our whare. Our kuia and kamatua would often visit, and I would offer to cook fresh snapper heads for them. I took great care in preparing the dish, adding onions, water, and coconut cream, and serving it with a side of wheel bread and real butter. The joy and satisfaction of our elders as they savored this simple yet nourishing meal were truly heartwarming. My Pakeha wahine supporter rung me last night, she has now established a connection with someone who can provide a supply of fresh fish heads and frames, as he recieves them.This development presents exciting opportunities for our community, and I look forward to exploring this further.

Whanau, i would like to keep you in the loop of what Mj'z is up to. Our aim is to speak to other bussiness here in hospitality. If we could come together to feed our community we could ease those that are homeless, those that are in the struggle to feed their whanau, tamariki, becos we are all just surviving out there and here, its a daily struggle, I am passionate about what i see in town at night and it was those reasons. Why we don't operate at night. Tane n I decided we werent going to be part of why whanau could be struggling. But thats another korero for another day.
Our aim is to do 7 days Night dinners. That is our Hope. (Nothing is impossible with God whanau)
So out of all the takeaways in town( i have to still speak to others) we have 1 who got on board that he has agreed on doing a kai 1 per month, thats a start(Still waiting for those i spoke to)
So hopefully i can speak to other bussiness here. If we could fill these gaps. We could ease some of the struggles that our whanau and community are in.
some but most of our bussiness in town rely on our whanau who are on MSD paydays (JS) becos Kaitaia is mostly unemployment/single parent/kuia kaumatua/
(Homeless is also out there)
So thats income for hospitality at nights, maybe 5 nights aweek. Whanau. Thats maybe 1 night a week we could make it happen. Free takeaway night whanau.
Thats our plan.
Anyone feel that this kaupapa is your calling come in and see us bring your korero in to our whare.
