Feed My Lambs is an initiative of Rongopai House Community Trust, Kaitaia. Our flagship programme, ‘Feed My Lambs’, offers practical, empowering support for mothers and their tamariki. Feed My Lambs runs on Tuesdays mornings for 2.5 hours during term time. Support continues for as long as it is needed. Each session is attended by up to 25 women and their babies following an agency referral or self
referral. Feed My Lambs sessions are relaxed, encouraging and informative, with Rongopai or guest speakers covering health and wellbeing topics such as:
baby development: playing and connecting with baby:
establishing boundaries: early childhood education options: pregnancy and health issues:
drug and alcohol issues:
cooking and budgeting skills: housekeeping skills:
stress management: conflict resolution: building a healthy self image:
understanding love languages: restoring whanau relationships:
health and dental checks;
arts and crafts:
first aid certificates and drivers’ licences:
community support networks
Many mothers and babies attending Feed My Lambs have had a difficult start in life, so we work hard to create a safe, supportive environment so they can take steps toward a brighter future for their whanau. We journey with each mother long term, providing one-on-one mentoring and whanau support, where possible, through our wider Rongopai services. This page is for anyone interested in getting involved, supporting us with practical needs or praying for the work of Rongopai House in the Far North. Welcome and thank you!
