Make use of the sewing machines, overlockers, big cutting table and plenty of supplies we have available for the community. Bring your own sewing, mending, or upcycling project, or work on something from our selection of projects, with encouragement and friendly guidance.

Learn to Sew continues Thursday at Anō Anō with Week 2: Handsewing & Embroidery.

Join Cath from 12–3pm to build your handsewing skills and have a go at embroidery.

$30 or 3 Timebank credits.

Interested in joining? Get in touch about a space, or register through the Learn to Sew button on our website.

Cath is also available before and after class for drop-in help with your sewing projects.

Monday: 9am–12pm with Catherine
Tuesday: 3–5pm with Joanne
Wednesday: 1–5pm with Kath and Jen
Thursday: 9am–5pm with Cath—Learn to Sew runs 12–3pm, so pop in before or after for drop-in sewing help
Friday: 1–5pm with Jen

Please note our new Friday hours: 1–5pm instead of 10am–2pm.

Each weekend workshop will run for four hours, giving you more time to learn, practise and work on your project with Cath’s help. Beginners are welcome, and spaces are limited.

Week 1 is Machine Confidence & Basics. Get to know the sewing machine, learn what the different parts do, and practise the basics with Cath there to guide you. A lovely place to start if you’ve been wanting to sew but aren’t quite sure how to begin.

It’s Week 8 of our Learn to Sew series—and time for the Final Project!

This workshop is your chance to bring together the skills you’ve been learning and work on a project of your choice. You could:

✂️ Construct two finished garments
✂️ Complete a garment and an alteration project
✂️ Create a small sewn product range, such as tote bags or cushion covers

Bring your ideas, unfinished projects or fabric along and get hands-on support to help bring your final creation together.

Week 7 of Learn to Sew was all about alterations and repairs

Another great workshop, learning practical skills to mend, adjust and give our clothes a longer life. Such a useful way to save money and keep textiles out of landfill!

Join us every Thursday 12-3pm for our sewing class. $30 per lesson or 3 timebank credits
