The Board of Trustees for Te Hiku Pasifika has made the difficult decision to close the Trust.
This closure is a direct consequence of the financial challenges we inherited and have been unable to reconcile satisfactorily. The only appropriate course of action left open to us is the closure of this Trust.
The Charities Commission will deregister the Trust at the end of this month.
We understand this news will be disappointing for our community, and we share in that disappointment. Though this decision marks an end, we firmly believe it will allow new opportunities to emerge.
We want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and affirm the work of Fale Pasifika in Kaitaia. They have a proven track record in our community, and we know are committed to helping all Pacific peoples in Kaitaia with their aspirations.
