Waiho i te toipoto, kaua i te toiroa
“Let us keep close together – not wide apart”

In 1987 Te Whare Putea (The House of Finance or Treasures) was set up to respond to the social, welfare and adult education needs of the Kaikōura community, Maori and Pakeha. In 2012 Te Whare Putea changed status from an Incorporated Society to a Charitable Trust. Te Whare Putea gives information and advice on a range of social service issues to the Kaikōura community. We coordinate a community foodbank, help people with budgeting and financial planning, and connect people with government services through the Heartlands Services. We now also offer Migrant Services to people new to the area. OUR MISSION: TO SUPPORT AND ENABLE EVERYONE TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES AND DEVELOP THEIR POTENTIAL

Ka Whangaia ka tupu, ka puawai
