Another couple of awesome nights for our Awatoru Rovers!

On 13th August, our Rovers were at the Kaiapoi Scout Den for a fun-filled karaoke night! There were plenty of laughs, questionable singing, and some great performances as everyone got into the spirit of the evening. We also added another handprint to the wall which was pretty exciting!

Unfortunately we didn’t have Rovers last week as a number of our members were dealing with sickness and injuries, while others were tied up with work.

However tonight, the fun continued at the Rangiora Scout Den with a face painting and arts night! Our Rovers got creative, had fun with the face paint, and enjoyed a relaxed evening together.

Tonight, our Rover Crew had a combined night with the Gray Raven Venturers. Things didn’t quite go to plan, so the evening turned into an impromptu Rovers vs Venturers cooking challenge!

The Venturers took out the overall win with their amazing ice cream sundaes. Congratulations to them!

We also added a few Rover handprints to the wall in the Kaiapoi Scout Den, leaving our mark for future generations.

We were also super lucky to have a special visitor, Lewis, from the Minnawarra District Rovers Unit in South East Perth, Australia. A massive thank you to Lewis for coming along and visiting our Rover Crew. Although we had quite a few of our Rovers away due to illness, injury, and work commitments, it was great to have you join us for the evening. We hope you enjoyed the night, and we’d love to see you again in the future!

A bit of a late post, but on Thursday night our Rover Crew met up with Banks Rover Crew.

Together, we walked down to Kaiapoi McDonald's for our McFormal before heading back to the Kaiapoi Gray Raven Scout Den. Along the way, we stopped at Trousselot Park, where everyone gave speeches on a range of interesting topics. Some speeches even turned into lively debates, which made for plenty of laughs and great discussion!

It was an awesome evening, and everyone had a fantastic time socialising, catching up, and getting to know another Rover Crew. Thanks to Banks Rover Crew for a great combined night!

Last night, two of our Rovers, Nikita and Teagan, organised a great evening for us to celebrate Matariki.

We all got together to share some kai before putting our knowledge to the test with a couple of Matariki Kahoots, as well as some kahoots on a bunch of other random topics. It was a fun way to learn more about Matariki while enjoying a bit of friendly competition.

A huge thank you to Nikita and Teagan for organising such an awesome evening!

Last night our Awatoru Rover crew got together for a cocktail/mocktail making evening. It didn't exactly go to plan, but that's all part of the fun and we still ended up making it work!

We also kicked off our Rovers wall in the den, and we can't wait to watch it fill up with photos, memories, and reminders of all the adventures still to come.

What a successful night we had last night!

Unfortunately we didn’t manage to get any photos, our newly formed Rover Crew met up at Joe’s Garage for a relaxed introduction, getting to know one another and sharing some exciting ideas for activities, adventures, and opportunities we can take part in together.

It was fantastic to see everyone there, and we’re already looking forward to catching up again next week. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make our very first get-together such a great success!

We’ve also included the planning ideas we came up with on the night, giving everyone a glimpse of the exciting things we hope to be involved in over the coming months.
