Every Friday afternoon you’ll hear plenty of laughter and the slap of table tennis balls emanating from Garrett Stadium, the home of table tennis in Invercargill.
This is the regular session for the Ping Pong Parkinson’s group, where the only thing flying faster over the net than the balls is the banter between the players.

Southland sport is powered by incredible women and girls who bring energy, heart, and commitment to every level of the game 💚

From rangatahi wahine out there giving it their all — and giving back — to the coaches, officials, and long-time volunteers keeping things ticking, our region is stronger for their passion.

This week, we’re celebrating a few of these legends: 🌟
🏃‍♀️ Bea Christie – the rising Athletics Southland star already giving back to her sport.
🎳 Glenice Paisley – a 75-years-young Bowls Southland icon who continues to inspire.
⚽ Plus, we’re shining a light on the opportunities being created for women and girls through Southland Football.

Ngā mihi to all the wahine making Southland sport what it is — vibrant, welcoming, and full of heart 💚
