Awarua Whanau Services offer a Kaupapa Maori service that provides for Whanau well-being by servicing social, health and early childhood development and educational needs.

General information

SOCIAL: Whanau Tautoko - Family Support, offering support to whanau. Counselling - Crisis intervention. Tahuri Atu/About Face - Programme for youth between 13 and 17 to achieve positive outcomes. Supported Bail - Six week programme, one on one support for youth on bail. Te Whiriwhiringa - Whanau led programme promoting their dreams and aspirations HEALTH: Whanau Ora - Registered Nurses providing health checks and offering support. Mother and Pepi - Support for Mothers to be. Tamariki Ora - Well child checks for babies up to the age of 3. WaeWae MiriMiri - Footcare provided to 60+. Gym Te Kakano - Nurse led clinics EDUCATIONAL: Parents As First Teachers - Offering support to parents to better educate their children up to the age of 3. All services are free and are not exclusive to just Maori Whanau.
