Howick Lions

Howick Lions In the Lions Club of Howick we make a special effort to maintain a culture of fun, fellowship and community service.

We try not to take ourselves too seriously but do try to accomplish, in a business like manner, a wide range of community activities.

Why do Lions chop wood?
Not for themselves, but so an elderly couple can sit safe and warm in front of their fire.

But here’s the thing, Lions don’t just chop wood.
We run vision screenings for children, support local families in need, help with disaster relief, and create projects that make our communities stronger in countless ways.

This is what being a Lion is about: seeing a need, rolling up our sleeves, and making life better for others.

In a world where many talk about helping, Lions do it.

👉 If you’ve ever wanted to make a real difference, this is your moment. Every community deserves a strong Lions Club, and you could be part of it.

💛 Join us today. Help us help your community.

🦁💛 THANK YOU Howick Lions 💛🦁

We are so grateful to the Lions Club of Howick for their generous donation of $500 to Bellyful East Auckland last month 🙌

This amazing support helps us purchase ingredients for our cook-a-thons 🥕🍝 and keep our freezers stocked with meals ready to be delivered to local whānau who need a little extra support. 💛

Community generosity like this keeps Bellyful going — and makes a real difference to families right here in East Auckland.

Ngā mihi nui, Lions Club of Howick — we couldn’t do what we do without people like you! 💛✨

To place a referral through to us please fill out the form in the link 🔗 https://bellyful.org.nz/bellyful-branches/east-auckland/

... Did you know...

Diabetes is one of Lions Clubs International’s global causes?

Here in New Zealand, we’re proud to support the work of NZ, who are doing incredible mahi to support Kiwis living with diabetes — including running life-changing youth camps for young people managing type 1 diabetes.

These camps build confidence, connection, and independence — and they’re full of fun too! Check out this heartwarming video from one of their camps:

At Lions Clubs New Zealand, we believe in empowering communities to live healthier lives — and that starts with supporting the next generation.

Thank You, Lions Leaders!

As we prepare to turn the page on another incredible Lions year, we want to take a moment to say a big THANK YOU to all the outgoing Club Officers across New Zealand.

Your time, energy, leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact — in your Clubs, your communities, and in the lives of those we serve. You've led with heart, and your efforts haven’t gone unnoticed.

From everyone at Lions Clubs New Zealand — thank you for your service.

..Honouring Helen Keller – June 27 ..

Today we celebrate the birthday of Helen Keller — author, advocate, and the incredible woman who challenged the Lions to become “Knights of the Blind” in 1925.

Her bold call to action inspired Lions Clubs worldwide to take up the fight against preventable blindness — a mission we still proudly support through vision screenings, guide dog programs, and access to eye care for those in need.

Nearly 100 years on, Helen Keller’s words still echo through every Lions project that helps someone see the world more clearly. 💛
