Welcome to Term 2 💕

This morning on our drive to Hororata we saw the most stunning bright rainbow!

We had to pull over to take a photo, then got chatting about the colours we could see.

This became our focus for art. There was lots of chat about what colour to put on the rainbow first and which goes next, both in English and Te Reo.

The tamariki were using fine motor skills to draw with cotton buds to create their rainbow art. Some of the children created their pictures on their own and some had help from mum.

We now have some very bright beautiful art work to put up on the wall.

The messy play activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the tamariki today, especially my daughter who loves to get messy regardless of what week it is! 💜

We would love to welcome new visitors, we have spaces available now and more coming later in the year as our older tamariki turn 5 and head off to school.

Please email [email protected] or message the page if you would like to visit.

Playcentre is fun, it's cheap ($30 a term) it's not hard work, spending quality time with your child/children during their important preschool years and making friends for yourself!!

Hope to see you soon!

Today our tamariki did our term one earthquake drill, they watch this video and practise being turtles before heading outside to do the role call.

Such an important thing to be learning living in shaky Canterbury!

Do you practise what to do in an emergency with your whanau and tamariki (family and children) if you are at home or if they are out and about and an earthquake happens?

Communication and social skills come easily at Playcentre, as our ratios are the best in Aotearoa New Zealand. With one adult per child, the language rich environment means your child can soak in a wide range of vocabulary, and is prompted to partake in a multitude of serve-and-return interactions with a broad range of grown ups even from infancy!

A great place for families to meet families. Hororata Playcentre is where local whānau connect; a safe, non-judgmental space, where you can dress up in bunny ears or wear a onsie and no one bats an eyelid 🤣
