There was a great turn out of Market Stalls at the Hikurangi Community Xmas Parade, photos below. The next Hikurangi Market Day will be in conjunction with the annual Auto Motor Madness to be held at the Hikurangi Rugby Club on the 21st February 2026. This event helps the volunteer Hikurangi Fire Brigade so please support it and come along.
If you are interested in having a stall on that day please email [email protected], for this lot of markets , thanks .

This event would happen without our sponsors - Whangarei District Council and their Judge Scott McKenzie, Freemason's who generously sponsored prizes to 2 divisions of the parade, their judge Brian Wigg, Hikurangi Business Association who sponsored the Businesses section at the last minute, their judge Peter Dempster and our lovely Charmaine Soljak as our MC.
Big thanks to people behind the scenes, Freemasons & Hikurangi Maori Wardens doing vehicle control, John Marshall of Dunamis Haulage for providing the stage/truck, our pilot vehicles supplied by Les from Get Delivered and Greg Mills assisting Mr & Mrs Claus with transport, our lovely Linda from Hikurangi Friendship House helping out with promotion and printing of flyers, Fraser from Fulton Hogan providing some road cones. The Hikurangi Pool Club for putting on a BBQ to help us out financially. Also the awesome help with our Traffic Management plans from Nadia and Gordon.
Of course, a huge thanks to Hikurangi Mountain Lions volunteers on the day and leading up to it. We also would like to thank 'Tractor' who isn't a Lions member but stepped in and helped Shelli on the day finding and handing out some of the winners signage. If I have forgotten anyone, I'm sorry. Next photo's will be the stallholders adding the extra ambiance on the day.
