Tauroa Farm Trust is a BioGro-certified organic farm with a focus on ecological restoration. In 2021 a new owner came on board who shares in Heather Smith’s vision "to restore the land to what it once was". All the staff here are dedicated to being humble stewards of this land. We are are committed to making decisions that allow the native flora and fauna to thrive. The 680-acre farm is situated a

t the foothills of Te Mata (the sleeping giant) in Hawke's Bay. The farm encompasses Mount Tauroa which is adjacent to Te Mata Peak. Since 1997 there has been a focus on biodiversity and organic/biodynamic agriculture. Heather started by tree planting, preserving fragile land/waterways and raising livestock in harmony with these initiatives. The location of this land, coupled with how it has been cared for, makes it ideal for a conservation sanctuary. The land has been calling for some time and finally, the time is here.
