It's the annual Maraekakaho Country Market Day today! 10am - 3pm. Pop over and check out the rides, stalls & events. A great community day for everyone!

🌱🔥 SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT: Evergreen Foundation 🔥🌱

Maraekākaho Country Market Day simply wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of organisations that believe in strengthening rural communities - and we’d like to give a big thank you to The Evergreen Foundation for getting behind this year’s event.

The Evergreen Foundation is a generous supporter of Market Day, helping us continue raising vital funds for Maraekākaho School and Gumboots Early Childhood Centre. Their support is a great example of their focus on education and community support in action.

You’ll see Evergreen’s ethos in action on the day too. Their fancy barbecue trailer will be firing up the grill for the ever-popular lamb buns (a Market Day favourite for very good reason 🔥🥖). They’ll also have their tent set up over the cake and book stall, helping keep those classic country Market Day traditions alive.

The Evergreen Foundation proudly carries the message of “Growing Good in Our Community” — a sentiment that fits perfectly with what Market Day is all about.

We’re incredibly grateful for their ongoing support and partnership in helping make this day possible. 🌱

🌿 People Helping People book launch 🌿

A beautiful Hawke’s Bay day - and as the afternoon sun shone down - we gathered last night to celebrate the launch of People Helping People, a commemorative book marking 1000 days since Cyclone Gabrielle.

Written by Jessica O’Sullivan, with stunning photography by Richard Brimer and others, the 119-page hardcover captures powerful stories of resilience, generosity, and community spirit. It celebrates the incredible volunteers, donors, and supporters who have helped restore lives and livelihoods across Hawke’s Bay.

📖 'People Helping People' will be available from Friday 7 November at Wardini Books (Havelock North and Napier, in-store and online) for $25.
All proceeds go directly to The Evergreen Foundation.

It's great to see these Building Futures trainees gain their OSH Forklift Operator Certificates - another great skill to offer employers. Congratulations team!

Big thanks to Pub Charity Limited for helping us to fund one of these forklifts for Building Futures so they have training opportunities like this at their fingertips!

Last week our team completed their OSH Forklift Operator certificates. Now they have the basic training, they have the opportunity to practice, practice, practice and master the skill.
