Nikā te reo karanga o Mangaroa, the call is out, Hākanuia 2025 is upon us, and we want your marae part of the kaupapa!
Kia kotahi rā tātou, lets come together to ignite our ahikā, celebrate our hapū, and fill Mangaroa Marae with the sweet sounds, smells and sights of Ngāti Kahungunu.
📍 Where: Mangaroa Marae, 3 Raukawa Road, Bridge Pā

✨ Whakangahau: Register your marae to perform, showcase your ihi, wehi and wana! Pukana whetero mai! It’s your moment to shine!

🍴 Kai Stalls: Share the tastes of home, bring your hāngi, nans fry bread or your secret TikTok sauce! Register your stall and be part of the flavour of Hākanuia.

🎨 Exhibition Space: Showcasing hāpori projects, artistry, and kōrero. Connect with the wider hāpori on kaupapa, pretend to listen and be in the draw to win prizes, or simply find shelter from the hīhī of Tamanui who no doubt will be shinning in full force.
👴🏽 Kaumātua Lounge: A space of manaaki and comfort for our pakeke to enjoy the day.
Hakanuia began in 2019 an initiative planted by TKKMoNKKH for rangatahi to connect with their marae through kapa haka kia whakanuia ngā kaupapa ora, ara ko Hakanuia. Since then, it has re-ignited all reanga to take up this tono and reconnect through haka ngahau. A celebration of our people, our culture, and our future, together.
