Glowing skin, a growing team and a pretty good reason to celebrate. 💛

The Skin Suite took home Wellness or Beauty Business of the Year at our 2026 Celebration Awards, and their approach to the industry is a big part of what got our attention.

They’ve taken something that can feel a little intimidating and made it approachable, with education, honesty and lots of personality built into the way they do things.

So, we’re going Behind the Win to share how it all came together.

There’s a lot more behind Tile Shed than just beautiful tiles.

And thats why Ross, June and the team took home the Trade of the Year win at our 2026 Celebration Awards. Since starting out in Hastings, they’ve grown Tile Shed all the way to Taupō, without losing that independent, hands-on approach.

Behind the win is a team who know their stuff, care about taking the stress out of the process and put plenty back into the local trade community too.

And their Christmas windows happen to be a Hastings favourite every year! 🎄

It’s such a bonus to Hastings that businesses like Tile Shed call our C*D home, and this win is a pretty good reason to get to know them a little better.

The school holiday movie line-up at Cineverse Hastings is looking pretty good. 🍿🎬

There’s PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, bringing pups AND dinosaurs, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom with a mysterious new creature causing chaos on the farm, Wile E. Coyote finally fighting back in Coyote vs. ACME, plus Forgotten Island and Spider-Man: Brand New Day for the bigger kids.

Perfect for a family day out and a great excuse to snack on some popcorn!

Internationally acclaimed Machine de Cirque is making its Australasian premiere right here at Toitoi this October as part of the Hawke’s Bay Arts Festival.

Five circus performers, one very strange machine and some seriously impressive skills. There will be breathtaking acrobatics, teeterboard, juggling, live music and apparently, a very inventive use of a bath towel.

After more than 700 performances across Europe, Asia and North America, it’s pretty cool to have them landing here in Hastings.

It's also family-friendly so bring the kids along for this one!

Four awards in one night, just over a year after opening their doors. Not a bad first year for Restaurant Ari. 🏆🏆

Simon, Emma and the Ari team had quite the night, taking home Emerging Business AND Hospitality Business of the Year, second place for Customer Experience and runner-up for the Supreme Business Award.

And behind those wins is a story that goes well beyond that delicious food that arrives at your table. A lifetime around restaurants, an awesome team who has been there since the beginning and a restaurant name with quite the story...

Hastings City is about to become one big gallery and we cant wait!

FotoFest Photography Festival Hawke's Bay is back for 2026, bringing more than 50 photographers from Hawke’s Bay, around New Zealand and overseas together for two weeks celebrating all things photography.

And there’s so much happening right here in Hastings City. Exhibitions will be popping up inside local businesses and galleries across the C*D, alongside workshops, floor talks, photography competitions and plenty for the kids too.

Follow the photo trail, pop into the exhibitions and explore FotoFest around the city.

We’re going Behind the Win with our 2026 Social Enterprise of the Year, The Acorn Project Hawkes Bay. 💛

And this is a win that celebrates some pretty incredible work happening right here in our community.

Since 2019, Acorn has supported young people and their whānau affected by cancer across Hawke’s Bay. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach either. It might be a chat with a youth worker, time with others who get it, monthly activities, weekend camps or simply having somewhere safe to turn.

It’s support on their terms, in their own time, and it’s easy to see why their hard work and compassion stood out to our judges.

A huge congratulations to The Acorn Project!
