Kia ora whanau.

Just want to acknowledge the sad passing of our Captain Hokianga grandfather.

Uncle Nak Hokianga was an integral part of the legendary Hokianga whānau who have been the backbone of MAC for many generations.

We send our aroha and deepest condolences to Bronson and te whānau Hokianga at this sad time.

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of our much loved and respected patriarch, Taranaki Kapene Hokianga. Who took his last breathe early hours on Thursday morning 28 May 2026, aged 76.

Beloved Husband of Kathleen Hokianga. Devoted Dad and father in-law to Taranaki & Liz, the late Mate & Jo
Bj & Judith, Faye & Johnny, Richard & Edith, and the late Teepa and Bridget. Cherished & loving Papa to all his mokopuna.
Dearly loved by all his brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and mokopuna.

Papa is currently lying at Aunty Chrissy Hokianga's Whare, Liverpool Cres Flaxmere.

Ope Times - Friday 29/5:

Saturday 30th May, we will leave aunty Chrissy’s whare at 11am to take Papa to Kahuranaki Marae, Te Hauke.
