Not the result the HB Magpies wanted last Sunday vs Taranaki in the Toyota Hilux NPC, round 8 match at McLean Park but…. Fantastic to see two Old Boys involved with the officiating of the game; Stuart Curran (09-13) was the man in the middle with the whistle and Josh Strong (06-10) was the all important TMO. Fantastic to have a few of the “Class of 2005” back at school last Saturday. Got some pics of them on the Homestead lawn, Dining Room, Long Room and at Three Wise Birds, the Pavilion in Napier. Attendees included Nick Walker, Gerry Claudatos, Simon Jones, Fergus Knight, Tom Harper, Kael De Herrera, Ashley Stewart, Willie Reynolds and Charley Crasborn.

Our Director of International Students, Mrs Gaenor Clarke, attended the “New Zealand Study Abroad Fair’ in Tokyo last weekend, sponsored by Education New Zealand. She was joined by Theo Heath-Anderson, (Old Boy 17-22), who is currently studying at Tokyo University. The Education Fair attracted over 900 people, all interested in their children studying in New Zealand. It was wonderful to have Theo’s help to promote Lindisfarne College to prospective families.

The college pool is getting a sandblast and a paint and we thought we’d share some photos of the early days of the new pool (and the pool at the Farne), built in 1965 and opened in 1966. Also remembering some of the original fundraising people behind the construction, including Graham Malaghan, old boy 58-62, along with other boys at the college, the parents and friends Association and other generous donors.

The latest edition of Highways is here!

By now, many members of our community will have spotted the latest Highways magazine arriving in their mailbox or inbox. Now we’re delighted to share it with our wider Lindisfarne community.

This annual edition brings together the people, stories and moments that make Lindisfarne special, from Old Boys doing remarkable things around the world to the achievements of our boys today.

Inside, you’ll find Old Boy stories featuring Roger Alexander, Duncan Parsons and Rex Galbraith, a tribute to Graham Malaghan, reflections from Rector Craig Hardman on his first 100 days, a look back at Productions from the Past, our service trip to Samoa, and plenty of academic, cultural and sporting highlights.
