Eileen von Dadelszen was a founding member of Hastings Choral when it was formed in 1986. You couldn’t find a more devoted and committed member. She has been responsible for obtaining thousands in grants over the years through her dogged determination, and ability to charm organisations to grant us funding. Eileen has served on our Committee several times as well as being President for a number of years.
At our AGM last week, Eileen was made a Life Member, richly deserved and roundly applauded.
Thank you Eileen for everything you do for Hastings Choral. 💐

We are loving learning Soul and Gospel under the experienced, joyful hands of Traci 💤🎵🎤🎶😊😊

In fond memory of Linda Harrowfield. Linda was a keen Alto member of the choir until ill health made it a challenge to continue. She was kind, lively, knowledgeable and loved to chat!
Always interesting to talk to and had a wide knowledge which she loved to share and sometimes make fun of people taking photos ( see below).
Choir Members attended Linda’s Memorial service today which was funny, joyous and memorable. Rest easy Linda. We hope you’re singing Messiah with a choir somewhere in the clouds.

Hastings Choral went to see The Choral movie tonight. It was a very enjoyable evening with drinks beforehand. The movie was very good, based during the First World War. SoberIng, dramatic, great Choral singing and at times quite endearing. Well worth going to see. Thank you Eileen Von Dadelszen for organising a great social night out.

“The Choral “
1916. As war rages on the Western Front, the Choral Society in Ramsden, Yorkshire has lost most of its men to the army. The Choral’s ambitious committee, determined to press ahead, decides to recruit local young males to swell their ranks. They must also engage a new chorus master, and despite their suspicions that he has something to hide, their best bet seems to be Dr. Henry Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes) – driven, uncompromising, and recently returned from a career in Germany. As conscription papers start to arrive, the whole community discovers that the best response to the chaos that is laying waste to their lives is to make music together.
Directed by BAFTA, Olivier and Tony Award winner NICHOLAS HYTNER (The Crucible) and written by BAFTA, Olivier and Tony Award winner ALAN BENNETT,
Cast: Ralph Fiennes, Roger Allam, Mark Addy, Alun Armstrong, Robert Emms and Simon Russell Beale

The Choir resumes in January. We will post more information nearer the time.

In the meantime, here are a few photos for your enjoyment.
