West Coast rural ladies – this one’s for you!
Over some nibbles, a warm meal, and a drink, come along and hear from some of our amazing local women who will be speaking at this year’s Boots and Bubbles – Rural Ladies Event

Alesha Tomasi (Speaking at Ahaura, Kokatahi & Whataroa) – A West Coast local, Alesha lives on a lifestyle block near Hoki. Alongside juggling her own business, she shares her journey of self-sufficiency, hunting, gardening, and cooking. Alesha shares her story to inspire women to give it a go, build confidence, and reconnect with nature.
Abbi Ayre (Speaking at Ahaura) – Abbi is a dedicated dairy farmer, mother of two, and passionate advocate for mental health awareness, based in Reefton. Her life is a blend of hard work, resilience, and the joy of family. Abbi is a passionate advocate for women’s mental health, and shares her story of resilience, wellbeing and the realities of rural life.
Siobhan O’Malley (Speaking at Kokatahi & Whataroa) –Siobhan with her husband and their three kids, moved to the coast in 2020 and now farm 180 cows at Kokatahi. She an enthusiastic member of the local community, a treasured teacher at the High School, and previously has been co-founder of farmer-to-food-bank charity, Meat the Need, and e-commerce start-up Hemprino. With many hats Siobhan brings experience and inspiration in farming, business, education, and community.
