Are you looking for a job?
Our wonderful administrator Abdullah is moving on to a new role. Could you fill these big boots?
You are a socially conscious person who believes in working to make a difference, not just a dollar. You're welcoming, organised, love seeing things run smoothly, and work best as part of a small team. You enjoy working alongside people from diverse backgrounds and want a career that can work around your lifestyle and existing commitments.
The role includes helping keep a busy centre operating smoothly: database management, reporting, reception, administration, finance, looking after our library, and undertaking lots of the little 'invisible' jobs that keep us organised. You'll also support the Centre Manager with networking and promotion of the centre, in order to attract new learners.
We are based at the Settlement Centre, so there's easy parking and a warm sunny office. (and good coffee!)
You will have....
Proven administration experience with a love of working with data and databases.
Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to pick up new systems quickly.
Proven experience working with customer management/ education databases an advantage.
A clear and friendly communication style, fluency in English (spoken and written) with a strong customer service ethos.
Confidence to proactively engage with learners, volunteers, and the wider community to promote the centre.
Experience working in the education sector or with migrants is highly desirable as is fluency in a second language.
An eye for detail and high level of accuracy.
Current clean full driver’s licence and able to use own vehicle for occasional work-related meetings.
A self-starter with strong cultural sensitivity, empathy and the ability to work as part of a tight-knit team.
This role will start part-time and hours are likely to increase later in the year as our learner numbers grow.
What we offer
ELPNZ is a place where your own potential will be nurtured as you work alongside a passionate and talented group of educators committed to helping refugees and migrants learn English and effectively settle in New Zealand.
Please send your CV and cover letter outlining why you'd be the perfect fit for this role, to the Centre Manager, or phone for a confidential conversation first.
Applications close Friday 6 May.
