Shama Ethnic Women’s Trust is a vibrant social service agency providing support, advocacy and programmes in order to empower all ethnic women, their children, and their families. Issues of language and culture and the fact that all around you are strangers add to the stress and one can feel extremely lost! Shama is a is a vibrant, sustainable and growing Centre, which provides culturally appropriate support, advocacy and programmes to be a source of strength and empowerment for ethnic women.

Join us for a community kōrero about a different type of future - where rangatahi actually get to have a say, and we look after what’s really important 🌏❤️ Lunch provided!
What to expect:
This workshop is part of a nationwide series of community workshops that give young people the chance to dream of a better economic future for Aotearoa. One that looks after people, Papatūānuku (our earth) and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Aotearoa's founding document.

We love getting out and about in our community!
Today we popped along to the Shama Open Day and had such a blast! We got to try some delicious food, have some beautiful henna done, and even had the chance to try on a sari and hijab. We shared a little of the fun over on our story, so head over and have a peek!

It was such a fun day of connecting, learning and celebrating the wonderful diversity in our community.
We can’t wait to see what the next event brings!
