WITH INDIVIDUALS AND
THEIR WHĀNAU TOWARDS
WHOLENESS AND PURPOSE We are very passionate about Fairfield, and we love the community very much.

Te Whānau Pūtahi (The Family Centre) is a faith-based charitable organization that has been serving the Fairfield community for over 25 years. As an integrated urban mission, we focus on walking alongside our community to build meaningful relationships, while working to strengthen, encourage, and support families in practical, emotional, and spiritual ways. We promote cohesive family dynamics and

assist families in maintaining these connections. Operating as both a Community Centre and a Community Church, we have provided support and fostered relationships for hundreds of individuals and families throughout the years. Fairfield, in comparison to Hamilton as a whole, is classified as a low socio-economic area, facing challenges such as higher unemployment rates, lower annual incomes, a greater number of single-parent families, crowded housing conditions, and schools with low decile ratings. Additionally, it is a multicultural community with a notable Māori population.

This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week. I am incredibly honoured to serve alongside around 50 volunteers at Te Whānau Pūtahi. You are the lifeblood of our organisation. Through your time, generosity, compassion, and willingness to serve, you help make a real difference in the lives of so many people in our community. Thank you for all that you do. It is a genuine privilege to do life alongside you. Your service reflects the heart of Christ and helps make Te Whānau Pūtahi a place of hope, belonging, and connection. Ngā mihi nui, Shane
