Our Rotorua office has a new home! On Monday morning, kaimahi from Workwise, LinkPeople and Te Pou gathered at 1163 Pukuatua Street for a whakatau, with Ngāti Whakaue leading the tikanga as mana whenua and gifting the office the name Te Rau o te Manaaki.

A big thank you to our Rotorua team, who've continued to do excellent mahi out in the community while this came together.

Looking for support into work? Pop in and see the team in their new space, or get in touch on 0508 869 675 — we'd love to help.

Congratulations to Te Pou and Blueprint for Learning whānau as Work Counts begins its next chapter with you. We can't wait to see it thrive with even more reach across Aotearoa. In such great hands👏

We're thrilled to welcome Work Counts into the Te Pou and Blueprint for Learning whānau 🎉

On 1 July, we held a whakatau at Millennium Centre in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland to mark an exciting new chapter for IPS employment support in Aotearoa.

Since 2018, Work Counts has been supporting organisations with building capability and best practice in the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, helping people experiencing mental health and addiction challenges into meaningful employment. Now, as a specialist function within Te Pou, that mahi gets an even stronger platform.

Workwise attended the Platform Trust Members' Day yesterday in Wellington, connecting with colleagues and organisations from across the mental health and addiction sector, getting motivated, sharing ideas and taking learnings back to our home organisations.

We enjoyed hearing from guest speakers about how to approach the year ahead for service delivery and relationships, finding opportunities, putting forward solutions, and doing the best we can with technology - without forgetting the important human connection behind everything we do.

Workwise has welcomed James Scarlett as our new General Manager to oversee the Auckland and Waikato teams, and to join our senior leadership team.

James has joined us from Pathways, so he may be a familiar face to many across the mental health space and clinical services in Auckland.

With over a decade’s experience in mental health, addiction services and youth development, James describes himself as a registered addictions clinician but a youth worker at heart.

“I look forward to connecting with people and employers in my new capacity – and seeing how we can journey with tāngata whai ora to find purpose, dignity and opportunities,” says James.
