We are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join our team at Kowhai consulting services located in Hamilton. This is a challenging but rewarding position. In this position, you will have the chance to play a key role in the development of Kowhai consulting services and contribute to a dynamic team delivering Family Start in the wider Waikato region.

The role is based in Hamilton however we offer flexible work arrangements to the right candidate. This is a full-time position and we expect the role to be 37.5hrs per week (negotiable).

As a social worker, you will have a strong foundation in social work principles and be committed to providing comprehensive and effective assessments and interventions. As a member of the Family Start Waikato team, you will adopt a child-centered, family-focused, strengths-based approach, empowering families to make informed lifestyle choices that ensure their children have the best possible start in life.

We welcome recent graduates to apply for this position, as we are committed to supporting the professional development of our team members.

The successful applicant will have:

An understanding of bi-cultural and multi-cultural environments, able to deliver culturally competent services.

Strong administration and documentation skills are preferable

Experience working with issues of family harm, and protection of children

Excellent communication and well-developed interpersonal skills

Experience working collaboratively in the community and with agencies across the social service sector

Fully Registered social worker, or working towards it with Provisional Registration
