🚒❤️ We want to say huge thank you from the team at Hukanui Volunteer Fire Brigade ❤️🚒

We would like to sincerely thank New World Rototuna, Farmers, Te Awa the base, Hamilton city council and our families, friends, supporters, and all members of the public who got behind us during this years Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge, organised by FireUp Events in support of Blood Cancer NZ.

Thanks to the incredible support from our community, together we helped raise more than $13,000 locally, contributing toward more than $2.4 million raised nationally for Blood Cancer NZ. An absolutely outstanding achievement and a reflection of the generosity and support shown right across our community.

We are incredibly proud of our firefighters and supporters who gave it their all throughout the challenge. The encouragement, donations, and community spirit shown throughout our efforts was truly appreciated.

Thank you again to everyone who supported us, we couldn’t do it without you. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year! 🚒💪❤️

Today, our crew along with many other firefighters from all over Aotearoa, will be tackling the 1,103 steps of the Skytower to raise funds for Blood Cancer NZ in the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge 🔥💪

A massive thank you to Farmers and Te Awa Mall for allowing us to fundraise in store today in support of Blood Cancer NZ and the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge.

Firefighters from Kawhia Fire Brigade, Morrinsville Volunteer Fire Brigade, Te Aroha Volunteer Fire Brigade and Hukanui Hamilton Volunteer Fire Brigade put in the hard yards throughout the day on the stair climber and AirDyne bikes, all for an incredible cause. 🔥💪

After being left in the lurch without equipment at short notice, Flex Fitness Te Rapa came to the rescue by supplying us with a stair climber, while FiT : Bootcamps & 24/7 Gym allowed us to use two of their AirDyne bikes.

It’s awesome to have local businesses willing to jump in at a moment’s notice to help us continue fundraising and supporting Blood Cancer NZ. We truly appreciate the support!

Thank you to everyone who provided a donation, no matter the size, every bit goes a long way.

📣 Save the date! 📣 come and support us! One last ditch effort for our little man Darcy!

This coming weekend, Firefighters from across NZ, will be in select Farmers stores taking on a Stairmaster in full Firefighter gear. We are doing this to raise awareness, raise funds and is part of our final training in preparation to race up the Auckland Sky Tower on the 23rd of May!

We will be doing the challenge on the Stairmaster on Saturday 16 May from around 9:30am to 1pm, and we would love your support!

🔥 Big milestone for our brigade 🔥

We’re proud to share that two of our members have successfully completed the four-day Volunteer Station Officer Course.

Both members have been preparing for this over the past several months, and their success marks the completion of a project our brigade has been working toward for a number of years. With their progression—alongside several others—we take another significant step forward in strengthening our capability and further enabling our brigade to better support the wider region.

A huge thank you to Karl (KJ) and Cameron Cox for the time, effort, and commitment you’ve put in, including time away from your families to complete this course. We are incredibly proud of you both 👏🚒

This is just the beginning. The next stage of this journey is an exciting one, and over the coming months we’ll have more great news to share.
