Hi all, work continues on the restoration to running condition of our Wright Cyclone R1820-87 engine. Lots of cleaning, checking and cataloging. The major milestone recently has been the completion of the master rod assembly. The master rod bearing has been replated, all parts cleaned and measured and the link rod pins pressed in. Work continues on the cylinders at the moment. It is good to be making some small steps towards the reassembly of this engine!

We went for another quick look at Rukuhia to see if we could dig up any relics. Slim pickings this time as it has become incredibly overgrown. Still a few interesting items to identify. The top peice looks to be a cockpit canopy rail from Corsair? And the lower pictures is a clamp of some sort with what appears to be a part number starting with 87 which would mean Curtiss P40. Any ideas Michael Nicholls Michael Reed ?
