Unfortunately due to the forecast rain and wind this afternoon and evening, we’ve made the call to move the outdoor Party in the Square to the Regent Theatre Greymouth.
It’s a tough call, but safety comes first.
As an outdoor event, we rely on the best information available from weather agencies. The predicted wind and rain created too much risk for the band, sound and lighting equipment, stallholders, and you, the public.
No one wants flying gazebos or soggy speakers.
The good news! The party isn’t dead. It’s just moving indoors.
Entertainment will now kick off at the Regent Theatre from 7pm for a good old knees-up. Warm, dry, and loud in the best way.

You can still make a night of it. Head out early, support local cafés and bars for food, then swing by the Regent and keep the evening rolling.
Fireworks haven’t been cancelled, just postponed.
They’ll now light up the sky at the next Friday Night Eats on Friday 30 January.
