Come to the table. Slow down. Breathe deeply. Be nourished.

At Orama, we believe retreats are about more than stepping away from the busyness of life—they’re an invitation to be refreshed in body, mind, and spirit. Around shared tables, delicious meals, and meaningful conversations, there is space to encounter the goodness of God and receive the nourishment only He can give.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.” — Psalm 34:8

Join us at one of our retreats, where beautiful food, authentic community, and God’s presence create room for deep renewal. Because sometimes the most sacred moments happen around a table. 🍽️💛

There are places that help us slow down.

Places where the noise fades, our perspective returns, and we become more aware of God’s presence.

For generations, people have come to Orama seeking rest, renewal, and a fresh encounter with God. We’ve seen lives changed, faith renewed, and purpose rediscovered in this beautiful corner of Aotea Great Barrier Island.

Whether you’re coming for a retreat, a camp, or simply a few days away, our prayer is the same:

Formation Through Truth and Community

Discipleship doesn't happen in isolation. It's formed in the classroom, around the table, and in the rhythms of daily life together.

At The Way – Discipleship School, students engage 12 weeks of deep biblical teaching from spiritual foundations and identity in Christ, to hearing God's voice, spiritual gifts, prophecy, and healing — all woven through with prayer, worship, Sabbath, and community life on Orama's coastal campus.

Teaching here isn't just about information. It's about transformation. Where truth is wrestled with, lived out, and tested in real community.

For anyone 18+ ready to grow in faith and discover their God-given calling.

You are invited to Orama's Winter Selah Retreat

https://orama.nz/selah-retreat/

As winter settles in and life often feels full and fast-paced, we invite you to come away and make space for Selah — a pause, a breath, a sacred moment to rest in the presence of God.

Join us at Orama from 19–21 June for a weekend of slowing down, reconnecting, and being refreshed in body, mind, and spirit. Nestled in the beauty of creation, Orama provides a peaceful place to step away from everyday demands and create room to hear God’s voice afresh.

Throughout the weekend there will be opportunities for fellowship, prayer, reflection, and unhurried time in God’s presence, alongside space to rest, walk, kayak or paddleboard, go fishing or simply enjoy the beauty around you.

Whether you’re carrying the weight of a busy season, or simply longing for time with God, this retreat is an invitation to both men and women, couples and singles to come and be renewed.

"Be still, and know that I am God." – Psalm 46:10

We would love for you to join us.

Pentecost Sunday

On the day Pentecost was being fulfilled, all the disciples were gathered in one place. Suddenly they heard the sound of a violent blast of wind rushing into the house from out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear! Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes. It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed each one of them. They were all filled and equipped with the Holy Spirit and were inspired to speak in tongues—empowered by the Spirit to speak in languages they had never learned!
— Acts 2:1–4 (TPT)

Pentecost means “fiftieth.” It took place 50 days after the resurrection of Jesus and 10 days after His ascension into heaven. Jesus had told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit, and that waiting was met with the power and presence of God.

The sound of rushing wind and tongues of fire were signs that heaven had come near. Ordinary people were filled with extraordinary power to carry the message of Jesus to the world.

Pentecost reminds us that Christianity was never meant to be lived in our own strength. We were created to live filled with the Holy Spirit — empowered, comforted, transformed, and sent.

The same Spirit that filled the disciples still moves today.
He still brings life to weary hearts.
He still gives courage where there is fear.
He still sets hearts on fire for Jesus.

This Pentecost Sunday, may we not simply remember the moment, may we welcome the Spirit afresh.

God Is Already in Tomorrow

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT

There are seasons where the path ahead feels uncertain — when responsibilities are heavy, decisions are constant, and your heart quietly wonders if you have enough strength for what’s next.

But this verse is a reminder that courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is choosing to move forward knowing God goes with you.
Before you arrive at tomorrow’s challenge, God is already there.

Before the conversation, the decision, the waiting, or the breakthrough. His presence has gone ahead of you.

Sometimes we ask God for a detailed plan, but often He offers something deeper: His companionship.

You do not have to carry every outcome on your shoulders.
You do not need to manufacture peace.
You simply need to keep walking faithfully, one step at a time, trusting that the God who called you will also sustain you.

Prayer
Lord, when I feel overwhelmed or uncertain, remind me that I never walk alone. Help me to be strong and courageous not because life is easy, but because You are with me. Give me peace for today and trust for tomorrow. Amen.
