📣 Mataura Community Board By‑Election Result
Born-and-bred Mataura local Neil Sinclair has been elected to the Mataura Community Board following yesterday’s by-election.
🗳 Final results:
• Neil Sinclair – 185 votes
• Gina Adcock – 145 votes
(No informal or blank votes)
🔢 Voter turnout: 30.22% (330 votes cast)
Neil is a retired meat worker, keen fisherman, and proud life member of the Mataura Angling Club.
Gore District Council Chief Executive Debbie Lascelles thanked both candidates for putting their names forward and acknowledged everyone who took the time to vote.
“Community boards play an important role in ensuring local perspectives are heard in council decision-making.”

*Please register at https://xplorer.rugby/ you will need to create a profile as a parent and then you will be able to register your children.
* If your child played last year you will be able to log in and choose there profile and register them for this season.

*Registration day – If you need help registering, have questions or would like to purchase uniform please attend our registration day **Tuesday 3rd March at 4pm**

Eastern Soutland Rugby – age groups
Year 0, 1 & 2 – Rippa
Year 3 – 1st Year Tackle
Year 4 – C Grade
Year 5 & 6 – B Grade

Sub price will be advised on registration day.

The junior rugby committee which was formed last year will continue, members include Naylor Browne, Mark Hunter, Anna Kaui, Luke Bartlett, Hayley Cowan and Leanne Heap. Please come forward if you would like to help out as well, many hands make light work.

🎨Mataura Splash Pad painting🎨

The contractor is scheduled to be on site on Sunday 22 February and Monday 23 February to apply the surface coating materials.

To allow sufficient drying time, the Splash Pad will be closed from late afternoon on Saturday.

If all goes to plan, the Splash Pad is expected to reopen on Tuesday or Wednesday in time for our busy weekend
