We had our "end of year" celebration with our dedicated volunteers early to beat the December madness.
Our volunteers show up with enthusiasm and gusto for deliveries, collections and restocking of our science kits.
To earn the main course and desert they had to do one of the experiments from our Sweet and Sour kit, making Sherbert. The photo speaks for itself.
Big thumbs up to Jenn, Neil, Christine and Rachel. Also thanks to volunteers Patrick and Wendy who couldn't make it.
Thank you to Trina from the Gisborne Volunteer Centre to bring these legend volunteers to us.

A shout out to the Hynds Foundation, sponsors our Water Analysis science kits.
And thanks Rachel from the Hynds Gisborne Branch who volunteered to help us deliver the science kits to our member schools.

The Hynds Foundation Charitable Trust was established in 2017 as a community funding extension of the Hynds business enterprise. It aims for a thriving New Zealand, where wellbeing is paramount, inequality is minimised, and opportunity to innovate with positive impact is universally accessible. Education is one area of focus, along with Arts, Community Wellbeing, the Environment and Health. The Hynds business is a family-owned New Zealand company founded in 1973 that specialises in manufacturing and supplying water and wastewater management products for civil and rural infrastructure.

Last Weekends A & P show

Great weather, no gumboots needed, and good stream of people coming through.

Love seeing kids getting excited about science! We had a few that came back, and again, and again...

Special thanks goes to Mātai Medical Research Institute who invited us to share the tent with them and other amazing organisations.

dnature diagnostics & research ltd, a Gisborne company which specialises in DNA research, diagnostics and treatments is also the sponsor of our Who's Been There? kit.

This kit introduces students to the structure of DNA and the role of environmental DNA (eDNA) as a conservation tool for monitoring both past and present biodiversity.
The dNature lab technicians had a play with the kit and loved it.@
