Sadly, we have cancelled this weekend's train trips due to the impending cyclone approaching New Zealand. Your safety is our first concern so felt it best to cancel today. Anyone holding tickets, please contact the Gisborne/Tairawhiti I-Site to either exchange to another date or seek a refund.

Urgent alert, with no loco crew for Easter we cannot operate BUT we have a wonderful couple of loco drivers happy to take Wa165 out for a trip on both Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April. Much appreciated Alistair and Theo. See you on board, tickets at the Gisborne I_Site. Enjoy stepping off from our new Platform at the GCVR Depot on Awapuni Road

Last public trips for this season this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday departing Gisborne Railway station 1pm. As usual tickets available form the Gisborne I-Site or at the station half an hour prior to departure. Don't forget your picnic for our hour at Muriwai plus enjoy a coffee, tea, juice or water and snacks and souvenirs from our on-board buffet car.
