Important information for Labour weekend. Due to Wa165 needing preparation for a boiler inspection, both Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October, (our season opening), GCVR will be running our 1pm departures using our heritage Diesel-electric loco. We will be offering a small discount for this change.

Sadly, we have cancelled this weekend's train trips due to the impending cyclone approaching New Zealand. Your safety is our first concern so felt it best to cancel today. Anyone holding tickets, please contact the Gisborne/Tairawhiti I-Site to either exchange to another date or seek a refund.
Once again our apologies, let's hope all for the best🙏🙏
