Kia Ora e te whanau, since 730am we have been monitoring our rivers. We are satisfied to say that all rivers have steadily receded up to 1.2 metres in some rivers. Our team will remain on alert throughout the day until we are satisfied with the river levels. We are expecting more rain over the next week so please remain on alert and ensure that our kaumatua (elderly), are ok. I will have another update at 3pm today. Nga mihi

Morena e te whanau, there has been lots of rain overnight around our area! We are currently monitoring our rivers, along with our flood modelling data that we have available.
PLEASE start to prepare your families for a possible self evacuation/evacuation to happen as we navigate ourselves over the next couple of hours. If you are feeling unsafe please self evacuate to Gisborne.
Coates Cnr is flooded so please dont attempt to cross at this stage!
Please check on kaumatua/neighbours/animals to see if they are ok.
