Entries for the 2027 Horizons Ballance Farm Environment Awards are officially open!

The awards recognise farmers, growers, managers, and teams across the Horizons region who are leading the way through their actions, good practice, and commitment to their land, business, people, and community.

Think you need to have everything finished or perfected before entering? You don’t. The programme is an opportunity to step back, reflect on what you’re doing, receive valuable feedback, and recognise the great work already happening within your business.

For some, entering starts with a personal nudge from a friend, colleague, or family member. For others, it begins with a simple question: “Am I ready?” The best way to find out is to take a closer look.

Entries close Saturday 31 October 2026.

A quality evening in the Horizons region recognising the farmers and growers putting in the hard yards to farm well and look after their patch.

There was a real sense of connection in the room — people proud of where they’re from and committed to doing right by their land and communities.

To the finalists and award recipients, well done. The effort, innovation and care behind what you do doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s helping shape a strong future for the region.

Thanks for sharing your stories and continuing to lead from the front.
