Nau mai, haere mai ki tō tātou Kaiwhakahaere Matua hou, Mōrehu Te Tomo.

We are pleased to share photos from the pōwhiri held at Kauwhata Marae to welcome Mōrehu into his new role as General Manager of Ngā Kaitiaki o Ngāti Kauwhata.

Mōrehu brings extensive experience in community leadership, partnership development, te ao Māori, and information technology. With whakapapa connections to Ngāti Kauwhata, Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and Te Reureu, he is deeply committed to supporting whānau, strengthening relationships, and advancing kaupapa Māori.

Prior to joining our organisation, Mōrehu served as Pou Whakarae (Director of Māori Partnerships) at Napier City Council and has also held governance roles across the community sector.

We look forward to working alongside Mōrehu as we continue to strengthen our organisation, support our whānau and uphold the kaupapa of Ngā Kaitiaki o Ngāti Kauwhata together.

Nominations are now invited for three (3) elected positions on Ngā Kaitiaki o Ngāti Kauwhata Inc. Governance.

Nominations must be received by the Secretary no later than 5.00pm on Monday 28 September 2026.

Voting for the three (3) elected positions will be undertaken by Ngāti Kauwhata members who are present at the Hui-ā-Tau.
