Nau mai e Ngāti Kahungunu ki Te Tihi o Ruahine Whānau Ora Alliance. Ka nui ake te tēpu, ka hōhonu ake te puna, ka kaha ake tātou katoa.

📣📣
Nau mai te iti, nau mai te nui o Ngāti Kahungunu ki Tamaki-nui-a-rua ki te Te Tihi o Ruahine Whānau Ora Alliance.
he whaikorero he mihi ōkawa noa.

Kua roa rawa wa e mahi ana, e whai hua ana mō ngā whānau i roto i te ora. Nei Te Ara Whānau Ora mō ngā iwi katoa.

We celebrate the strength of the Alliance and Ngāti Kahungunu officially pulling up a seat at the tēpu, the table gets bigger and the puna gets deeper!

Alliancing is a great solution to how we combine our efforts while maintaining each other’s rangatiratanga and mana.

It requires you to wear multiple pōtae at time’s, iwi pōtae, hapori pōtae, pōtae mo te ora.
And that take’s skill!

If you're from Dannevirke and need support for a kaumātua or your whānau — from one-on-one help to community activities or a whānau health plan — They got you. Health coaches, youth mentors, and Whānau Ora support are all there for you.

Pōtae mō to iwi, pōtae mō ngā iwi, pōtae mārō!!

🌿 Ruahine Forest Park Update

Ruahine is one of Aotearoa's treasured ngahere, but high deer numbers are impacting native forest regeneration.

DOC is working alongside Treaty Partners, hunters, communities and industry to reduce deer pressure and support the recovery of the forest.

This kaupapa is about restoring balance, protecting biodiversity, and ensuring the ngahere can thrive for future generations.

🌱 Toitū te whenua, toitū te ngahere, toitū te tangata.

Kia ora whānau,
If you're looking for something meaningful for your tamariki to be involved in during the second week of the school holidays, our Merritt whānau will be running a wānanga with our rangatahi here in our rohe.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to learn and develop skills in dance, acting, and performance, while building confidence and connecting with others. We are also fortunate to have our nephew, Poroaki helping to facilitate the wānanga. He has experience in both film and television, having appeared in Muru and Shortland Street, and will be sharing his knowledge and passion for the performing arts with our rangatahi.
The wānanga will conclude with a production for our hapori on Saturday.
There is no cost to participate. We do ask that any tamariki who register are committed to attending and completing the full wānanga, as they will be performing in the final showcase on Saturday.
If your child is interested, we'd love to have them join us. Ages: 12 years up.
